Needtobreathe - Slumber

One of my favorite bands just released a new album, and it’s hands down their best yet.  Great music and a great vocalist who writes amazing songs.  A few of these songs have stood out to me over the years and have gotten me through some of my harder times.  This song has pushed me out of my lowest low to date.

Last Wednesday, I hit rock bottom.  Ironically enough, this album came out last Tuesday and I finally gave it a listen on Thursday.  Each song is great but “slumber” jumped out at me as an unbelievably hopeful call to live.

I was in a deep slumber over the past 6 months, sleep-walking through life.  This slumber was due in large part to my struggles as a professional golfer and the eventual realization that my career has to be put on indefinite hiatus.

Thankfully this song woke me up from my slumber and reminded me to open up my eyes to the glory of the life in front of me! May it speak to you if you sleep-walk through life from time to time.  May this song be a constant call to arms to live wide awake!
